Seroquel For Sale Aldactone Generic Buy Coumadin Online Prozac Without Prescription Elimite No Prescription Avapro For Sale VPXL Generic Buy Ultram Online Penisole Without Prescription Cialis Soft Tabs No PrescriptionI’ve put out a new sandbox build that contains the new Flashcard notes functionality. Now you can attach text, images and sounds to your flashcards. Keep in mind that this is not beta, or alpha software. It’s just a snapshot of stuff I’m working on. That said, I’d like your comments on whether you think this new notes feature is useful.
Known limitations:
- Can only play mp3 sound files.
- Cannot stop sound file once you’ve started to play it. So don’t attach big sound files!
- No shortcut key to play attached sound.
- Attachments do not get backed-up.
Please make sure that you keep a back up of your existing word lists if you try this build, as it will make modifications to your user database.

Looks good. any chance you could create an export function for some sort of report using smart filter? I ‘d love to be able to make printouts with the characters I often forget.

Hi Chris,
First of all thanks a lot for this great program. I use it a lot and it really helps me with my mandarin.
Just came accross a little prog. called Pablo (http://ehaton.blogspot.com/2007/02/learning-chinese-pablo-my-personal.html)
that is kind of similar to zdt although it has much less features.
The UI is kinda good though, especially the handwriting recognition, and I was wondering if maybe you could later include that into Zdt ?
Thanks again
ps: my pc is getting old and is dreaming of a c++ version …

It sounds good. It will be interesting a feature to export flashcards (all or a selection) to a set of images (2 per flashcard, one with the character, one with the pinyin and definition), each pair could have the same prefix as filename to be recalled in order, first the character, then the pinyin. This images could be transfered then to ipods, phones or mp4 devices. Regards!

Hey, when can we expect an update to this? I’d really like to use these new features.

Hey,
the note function does make a _lot_ of sense to me, as you can put the word into context here by adding a whole phrase around it. very useful learning effect.
looking forward to seeing it in a stable release!
btw. zdt is the best chinese learning tool i came accross so far. Thumbs up!
Cheers
Christoph

This looks great, thanks! A few other things I’ve noticed and would love to see when you have a chance:
1. (and most important!) Please, please, please can you add ‘OR’ capability to the Smart Filter? The filter is a great idea but just doesn’t do what I would want it to do. In general I want a word tested if I don’t know it well enough or if it’s been a while (even if I know it well, if I don’t practice it occasionally I’ll forget it). There is no way to build this Filter using ‘AND’. The filter I would most likely want to use is something like this: Streak = 30 (it’s been a while since I’ve practiced it).
2. Reset statistics: it would be nice to be able to reset statistics both on a card-by-card basis and per word list. Sometimes I leave off practicing with ZDT for a while. When I come back to it, the statistics aren’t necessarily very relevant anymore. I’d like to make a clean start. It’s not that hard to work around this (export the word list without the statistics, then import it back into a new word list) but it would be more convenient to be able to do this by just selecting an option.
3. De-duplicate: it would be great if when you test multiple lists, the system would exclude duplicates (i.e. words that are on both lists are tested only once).
4. Consolidated statistics: I don’t know how the statistics part works, but I think it would be good if statistics were by word as well as by word list, so you could find out how well you are doing on a particular word regardless of which lists it’s been tested in as well as how well you’re doing on any given word list.
5. More access to statistics: I’d like the summary at the end of a test to show words I got right as well as words I got wrong. I’d also like to bring up statistics for a word list showing all words in that list and their statistics and I’d like to be able to view statistics for any individual word.
6. Word list statistics: it might be nice to have summary statistics for word lists, not just words (how many times has the list been tested, what percentage right on the first try last time, average percentage right on the first try, average number of times each word is repeated in a test, etc.).
Lots of ideas here, but overall it’s a great program and has definitely helped my Chinese! Thanks!
Best,
Dorrit

Is this program still being actively developed? It looks like the last update was around 16 months ago.

I have a problem with v. 0.7.0. In Windows 7 more often then not cant I see some of the letters in the chinese simplified writing. Ive tried changeing fonts and all that…

In which part of the program are they not showing up and what fonts did you try? The font you choose is usually the main culprit of this problem.

well it dosnt show up when i browse the folders or when I use the flashcard function.
I have now found that if I increase the font size so that the characters all tilt horizontally, I can see all of them. But when I again use a lower font size so that they read vertically they disappear.
Is there a way to see the flashcard characters verticaly at the same time as the dictionary shows them horizontally? =)

Are you using a font that starts with a @? Those are the fonts that get rotated strangely. Try one without it.
