Let there be sound!
I’ve been playing around with the Adso pinyin recordings and developing a plugin to handle playing the sounds. I figured out from this article how to play mp3s using the Javasound API and I converted David’s recordings from wav format to mp3. Unfortunately the set of sounds I received from him is not totally complete, so I have to wait on David to get the complete set. But in the meantime, I’ve added some hooks into the zdt so that you should be able to drop in this “sound plugin” when its released and have it just work. Performance seems a little slow on Linux, but seems to work ok on Windows. Although, you really can’t reach too many conclusions testing on just three computers.
