Back to work again

I just want to let people know that I’ve stopped twiddling my thumbs and have actually started work on the next version of the ZDT. The big change in this version is that I’m separating out the dictionary data and the user data (categories, stats, etc). By doing this I hope to allow users to have more flexibility in editing their categories, so for example, you’ll now be able to edit your definitions without mucking up the underlying dictionary entries.

On another note, I’ve started a new page that contains transcripts of the dialogs for some of the chinesepod lessons as I listen to them. I’m including a ZDT word list file and a practice writing sheet for each lesson. Let me know if you think this is a good idea. I think it’s been pretty helpful for my own studying.

ZDT for OS X released

I’ve put up the OS X release on the ZDT sourceforge page. The file is called zdt-0.4.8-mac.zip. You’ll need Java 5 to run so to easiest way to make sure you have it is to be running OS X 10.4.6. Please let me know if you run across any issues. I already know the way it integrates with the dock is kind of weird. It puts a second icon on the dock when running.
