HanDeDict dictionary plugin released
February 21st, 2007
For all you German speaking Chinese learners, I’m pleased to announce the release of the HanDeDict ZDT plugin. HanDeDict is a freely available Chinese-German dictionary in EDICT format. The plugin is based on the Jan 27, 2007 version of the dictionary. You can download the plugin from here.
To install, just copy the downloaded jar file into your ZDT_INSTALL_DIR/plugins directory. You will then have the option to select ‘handedict’ as your current dictionary.

I have downloaded the HanDeDict ZDT plugin and copied to the ZDT_INSTALL_DIR/plugins folder. After a restart of the ZDT program I see in the dictonary dropdownlistbox only the cdict entry and handedict has not been added. What is wrong. I there also a neccesary entry at other places ? Who can help me.

Would it be possible to use this online Chinese/German dictionary database?

Hi Otto,
Does it have its entries in a text file that I can download and parse myself? If so, then yes I could. What makes it better than Handedict?
Chris
