Small update to adso and handedict dictionary plugins
March 9th, 2007
An issue was discovered where if you tried to use the adso and handedict dictionary plugins together at the same time, you would run into some memory problems. I’ve released a fix for both dictionary plugins and you can download them here.

The Handedict plugin works great for me with windows xp. But how come that searching is much slower than with the cedict? for example the text annotator takes ages to complete the pinyin, whereas with cedict in completes like instantly? I have the newest sun java plugin installed.
thanks,
tiantian

Well, the Handedict dictionary has about 92k entries and Cedict has 34k. I think I can do some optimization though. So thanks for prodding me. =)

I love ZDT and have been using it for a long time, but there are problems.
It’s been 5 months since the last update, and its too long. Even though you might not be able to fix all problems you should still release small updates, to keep the interest for your program up.
Also, you should put up some deadlines and stuff. Like “I am currently working on a update that is planned to be release the 5th of may”. This way, people will know that things are happening.
People will forget about ZDT and start using other programs if nothing will happen.
Just my little piece of advice for you.

Hi Dan,
Well, unfortunately life is busy for me these days and the time I have to spend working on ZDT is unpredictable at best. It’s just a hobby and it doesn’t pay any bills. I also don’t like giving deadlines about releases because I’ve found I’m not good at keeping them.
If you are having problems, then please let me know (via email or posting on the forum). I have a list of things I want to do and I will get to them when I can. Also I am always looking for people to help test the builds so if you would like to volunteer, just send me an email. The current 0.7.0 build is currently in this testing process.
Thanks
Chris

I know that this is a freeware and that you dont make any money from this. I hope that you know that zdt and your hard work is very appreciated.
You said that the next version is in the testing phase ?
If you need any help with the testing, I am very much willing to help you with that.
I could help you find bugs and stuff.

Hi Dan,
Yeah, just send me an email (fongcn at gmail.com) and I’ll hook you up with the latest build.
